Best Rated Dispensaries in Toronto – 2022 Edition

[ad_1]

Thousands of businesses shuttered in Toronto during the pandemic, but those empty storefronts of former bars, cafes and clothing stores have seemingly transformed overnight into one cannabis dispensary after the next.

Competition is fierce.

Some of the city’s most beloved haunts are now legal pot shops. Certain neighbourhoods like Kensington Market, which used to house a few discreet grey market shops prior to legalization in 2018, now have four cannabis shops just on one block.

Queen West, St. Lawrence Market and Leslieville aren’t much better and even beyond downtown, there’s no shortage of dispensaries to be had. There are more than 300 legal retail weed stores in Toronto so far in 2022 and the number is only expected to grow.

At this point, the market is feeling saturated and finding a cannabis shop in TO—one that you actually like and trust—feels overwhelming. Luckily, Leafly has a network of passionate cannabis partakers who’ve tried dozens of dispensaries and ranked their top picks.

Scroll on for five of the best-rated weed dispensaries in Toronto.

FIKA Local

1900 Eglinton Ave. E—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐  5 star rating (15 reviews)

While FIKA Local’s Eglinton Ave. shop is technically in Scarborough given that it’s east of Vic Park, the Golden Mile location still makes our list for top Toronto cannabis dispensaries because it’s quite literally steps from what’s considered Toronto proper.

Like other FIKA Local cannabis retail stores, this one has been outfitted with sleek interiors that immediately set the tone for a refined shopping experience.

There’s a Vape Bar, which highlights all of the vape options, a Tuck Shop, which is the cooler full of infused drinks, and the flower is on display inside of magnified domes to inspect the bud. The brand does the occasional sale, too, like the most recent 20% store-wide promotion during its week-long Booming Deals.

Body and Spirit Cannabis

361 Yonge St.—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 5 star rating (6 reviews)

Body and Spirit Cannabis, which is located on Yonge between Gould and Gerrard, is practically on Ryerson University’s campus, so it only seems fair that they offer a decent student discount.

Any of-age student with valid ID is eligible for 15% off a slew of products, including edibles, vapes, oils, pre-rolls, beverages, capsules and 1g, 3.5g, and 7g of flower, as well as 10% off 14g and 28g of flower. Still, you don’t have to be pursuing higher education to frequent this highly-rated cannabis shop in Toronto.

“Body and Spirit is a great legal dispensary,” writes one patron. “Every time I arrive I’m greeted with warm welcomes and immense knowledge with every visit. Their website is easy to navigate orders and their social media is awesome!”

Bonnefire

244 Queen St. W—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 4.8 star rating (19 reviews)

Bonnefire has staked its claim on Queen West near the corner of John St. It’s an ideal spot for folks who find them in the area to shop or dine, or for residents who call one of the nearby highrises home.

While Bonnefire is in the thick of the urban sprawl, its interior takes a more nature-focused approach with raw wood displays and decor accents. One Leafly user describes the shop as having cottage country vibes and they’re not wrong.

Bonnefire also scores high for its stellar staff who are welcoming and friendly, and also have solid recommendations for anyone in need of advice or direction.

Tokyo Smoke

333 Yonge St.—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 3.9 star rating (18 reviews)

This Tokyo Smoke location at the corner of Yonge and Dundas, right above the Dundas subway stop, makes it a solid choice for commuters, shoppers at the neighbouring Eaton’s Centre or residents in the area. (Fun fact: this address is where HMV first opened its Toronto flagship in the early 90s.)

Expect the same consistency and quality from this Tokyo Smoke shop as its sibling stores, along with the same elevated shopping experience and decor. “Solid selection and [they use] plain language notes and classifications that let you know whether you’re heading for couch lock, a creative afternoon or clear-headed pain relief,” explains one customer.

“Looking forward to visiting again.” Like other dispensaries, this location offers click and collect shopping as well as a seniors day special on Tuesday where folks 55+ receive 15% off their order.

The Hunny Pot Cannabis Co.

202 Queen St. W—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 3.4 star rating (49 reviews)

The Hunny Pot is also located on Queen West and practically neighbours with Bonnefire. Still, the atmosphere couldn’t be more different. The Hunny Pot has opted for a more modern design aesthetic with one customer comparing it to an Apple Store.

“Walking into the Hunny Pot felt like I was in an Apple Store looking for an Iphone. The staff [are] so professional, everything is so orderly and comfy. This company is really challenging the stigma surrounding the cannabis industry,” they wrote.

The budtenders at this dispensary receive a lot of praise, as does the product quality itself. Today, The Hunny Pot has 17 locations across Southern Ontario, but this Queen St. location will always be special in that it was the city’s first legal shop.
